THE TEAM

Karli Ellis

Karli Ellis has a strong love of music and teaching children. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She began taking piano lessons at seven years old and took private lessons for nine years until she began to teach at the age of 16. During this time she was taking vocal training from a private teacher as well as being involved in her school's Concert and A Cappella choirs.  She has starred in numerous musicals including the chance to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

After teaching Kindergarten for 3 years, she decided to run her music studio full time, adding multiple classes and camps that fit every child's needs. She uses many of her teaching techniques from the classes she has taken in college at her music studio.  Classes such as child development, learning theories, understanding children, and more have helped Karli to understand how children learn and the best ways to differentiate instruction for each specific child to help them reach their fullest potential.

Having fun while learning music is Karli's main focus while teaching.  She creates fun theory games, motivating rewards, and is always asking the students what songs THEY want to learn.

Karli has also gone to piano teaching workshops at Day Murray Music and taken Music Theory from the University of Utah to help her understand piano concepts on a deeper level.  When she is not teaching at the music studio, you can find her playing her guitar and piano, singing, composing music, enjoying time with her 2 boys under 2, competing in weekly soccer games, and creating content for her motherhood blog.
